Top 3 Restful Paint Colors for a Bedroom

One of the most important things you can do for your health is get a great night’s sleep. Interior design can definitely play a role in helping you rest and relax, especially when it comes to the paint colors you use in your bedroom. Think about it - would you feel ready to sleep in a bold red room? Probably not. But a calming color can definitely help you drift off to dreamland! When I design bedrooms for my clients, I am very careful to create sanctuaries in their bedrooms with can’t-miss paint colors. Here are my top 3 paint selections for bedrooms!

1. Caribbean Blue

Any color that reminds us of waterscapes is going to immediately gives us a sense of peace. I like to find quiet blues that have a bit of fresh green in them to bring in that idea of water colors. That includes Sherwin-Williams Blue Horizon, Benjamin Moore’s Palladian Blue, Behr’s Watery, or Farrow & Ball’s Dix Blue.

2. Silvery Blue

There’s a beautiful color in the twilight sky that is just between silver and blue. That idea of the sky just beginning to dim is a great feeling to bring into a bedroom! This should be a color that could be grey in some light or pale pale blue in another. Farrow & Ball’s Skylight is a perfect example of that shade. Or you could try Benjamin Moore’s Seersucker Suit, Sherwin-Williams’ Mountain Air, or Behr’s Hush.

3. Greige

This is any color that rides that line between a beige and a grey. It’s a warmer neutral that is so calm and quiet that it’s perfect for a bedroom. I like these paint colors when I want to go more to the yellow side of the spectrum. If this is more your style, try Behr’s perfectly named Greige. Other great selections include Farrow & Ball’s Worsted, Sherwin-Williams Solstice, or Benjamin Moore’s Picket Fence.

And with any of these colors, I like to add a bright white trim to really make the wall color pop. So which one is your favorite? Let me know in the comments section below!

Sweet dreams!
