Inspired by Travel - Costa Rica

One of the best things that I do for my work is travel! I know that seems counterintuitive, but it’s true. Travel helps me clear my mind, which is proven to make people more creative. And it helps when your destination is guaranteed to inspire with gorgeous scenery, incredible food, and fabulous color palettes.

My most recent trip was to Costa Rica, a country known for its pristine beaches, amazing flowers, and stunning views. Besides being the perfect place to relax, it also gave me incredible ideas to use in my interior design.

The house we stayed in took advantage of the climate with fabulous indoor/outdoor rooms that allowed us to move seamlessly between them. I have a project in mind for the open wall systems like the one above! And look at that view!

Lush vegetation and vibrant flowers were everywhere we looked. Who wouldn’t be inspired by that gorgeous pink color above?

Everything we ate was also incredibly fresh and fantastic! Trying new flavors and spices always reminds me to be more daring in my design work and to try new ideas.

One of my favorite escapes was this incredible lounger with its own outdoor cabana - wouldn’t this be perfect beside a swimming pool?

And speaking of swimming pools…. I’ve never had the chance to design an infinity pool moment for a client, but after spending evenings by this pool, I’m going to try to find a spot for one!

Every moment of the trip was magical. And I came back refreshed and ready to use all of my inspiring moments for my clients’ projects! What are some of your favorite destinations? Let me know in the comments section!
