House Tour Part 2: My Home Renovation
A few weeks ago, I gave you the first look at my renovated home. We went through a lot to finalize the interiors, including a hurricane, flooding, and a tree falling on it. But it’s complete and my family and I are thrilled! I had a second photo shoot last week and I’m so excited to show you the rest of the rooms. Let’s take a tour!
Living Room
This room has an incredibly tall ceiling, as well as floor-to-ceiling windows. I wanted to accent that height, but also make this space cozy. The fireplace surround was extended straight up to the roof, which accentuates the airiness of the room. The furnishings help ground the design, so it still feels intimate and welcoming. I mixed antiques with new furnishings, as well as beautiful modern art, for an eclectic style that I love.
Kitchen
My husband and I love to entertain, so I wanted to reconfigure the kitchen into a space where people can gather. It’s also a room that really supports my love of cooking and baking! A nearby butler’s pantry offers extra space to store glassware and serving items, and it serves as a wet bar and coffee station.
Family Room
This cozy space is a great room for watching TV, or for winding down at the end of the day. I love to use a neutral background and then layer in bold color, and this room has that punch. The seating is so comfy, offering textures and deep cushions.
Upstairs Sitting Room
At the top of the stairs is a little sitting area. I love sitting here with a cup of coffee in the morning, or using it as my space to write letters and cards (yes, I still do that!). It’s also a terrific setting for some of my family’s art and sculpture.
It’s definitely been a long road, but I am so happy with the interiors and the renovation! In my next blog post, I’ll show you the BOLD exterior choice we made, too. Let me know what you think in the comments section below!
Warmly,
Beth
