Color Trends for 2024

It’s the time of year when paint and color companies start to make their predictions for next year’s trends. We already have four paint forecasts and we’ll get more all the way through until Pantone makes their announcement in November. So far this year, the looks for 2024 are either moody or take their inspirations from earth tones. Let’s take a look!

Ironside by Dutch Boy

This pretty olive green is such a soothing and lovely color. I used a similar shade in a Telluride kitchen you see above, but it would be fantastic in a bedroom or a study, too. It’s an earth tone that brings nature right inside.

Renew Blue by Valspar

This is one of my very favorite colors - it’s a bit of sky blue, but with a turquoise hue to it. This is a blue that makes you think of both the sky and water, so it’s soothing and calming. That makes it perfect for a bedroom!

Cracked Pepper by Behr

I posted on Instagram about this color last week because I am definitely using more soft blacks in the interiors I’m creating. I have a new kitchen and bar area in my Cherry Hills project that feature stunning black cabinetry. And another project’s kitchen has a painted black door and hood. This is a grounding color that has that little bit of edge to it.

Persimmon by Sherwin-Williams

This is not a color that I could see painting throughout an entire room. It’s a bit intense for that since it’s on the orange end of the spectrum. But as an accent color - for pillows, drapery, or in art - it’s a great choice. It works really well with blues and greens.
