The Green Scene

St. Patrick’s Day is a time of year when everything turns green - rivers, restaurants, beer, you name it. But ironically, some form of green has also been named the top color for 2022 by almost all of the color forecasters out there. Why? Because it is another calm and soothing color like blue, but it also brings a touch of nature into every room. Here are 4 rooms that I think need an infusion of the gorgeous hue this year!

The Living Room

Using green in your home doesn’t mean you have to bathe a room in the color. The lovely green chairs above from Hickory Chair were just the right touch of an emerald hue in this living room I designed. There are also SO many greens on the color wheel - you can always find the right one for your interiors.

The Kitchen

I used a paler shade of green in the kitchen I designed above. It’s a perfect counterpoint to the light wood tones throughout the home. And it also is a fantastic nod to the natural world that’s right outside this mountain house.

The Study/Den

In the room I designed above, I wanted to add a green paint color but I also wanted the room to keep a cozy feeling. So I chose an olive hue that is a great combo of green and brown. It’s perfect with the modern-rustic decor in the home.

The Bedroom

On the opposite end of the green spectrum is the fresh spring green I used in the bedroom above. It balances the pale and serene blue with a much-needed color punch.
