A Range of Hoods

There are so many functional items in the home that may not be pin-worthy on Pinterest or worth a “like” on Instagram but still make everything run perfectly. A range hood is a great example - without it, your kitchen is a smoky, greasy mess. But it isn’t something you think of when you think of a gorgeous kitchen. I love to design custom hoods that turn that idea on its head! Instead of just blending into the background, these hoods are made to stand out!

Complementing the Cabinetry

In the kitchen above, I wanted to create a serene and gorgeous kitchen, so I didn’t want a big stainless hood to stand out here. Instead, I designed a surround that blends into the cabinetry around it. It’s subtle, but the shape still makes it a lovely focal point. In the kitchen below, the hood is more substantial and makes a strong statement.

Adding Interest

For the beach house kitchen below, the exhaust needed to climb a very high wall. I didn’t want that to just be one long pipe, so I created a custom look. I used shiplap to give the hood a more coastal style and to complement the wall to the right. That, along with the metal band around the bottom, makes this hood a seashore standout!

Metal Mania

I do like to add metal bands to the bottom of the custom range hoods I design, like the one above and in the kitchen below. Those bands have a function - they aren’t just for looks. Any spatters or grease will wipe away easily from the metal, keeping this beauty looking great.

Coloring in the Lines

I love a client who wants lots of color in the home! For the kitchen below, I painted the custom hood to match the cadet blue on the island. It was a great way to create a wow-worthy moment in the room!
