Blooming Florals

One of my favorite parts of summer is that so many plants are in bloom; being surrounded by color in nature just makes me happy. Luckily, living in the modern age, we can still enjoy blooming florals year-round by bringing them into our homes as temporary visitors in floral arrangements, or better yet, as blooming colorful permanent guests!

Sometimes, all it takes a touch of floral to breathe life into a room, like this gorgeous crewelwork chair in a woodsy library.

Converversely, while sometimes you only need a pop of floral, sometimes when it comes to florals, too much is never enough - loving this mix of natural flowers with traditional chinoiserie wallpaper.

Blooming floral curtains on top of blooming floral wallpaper? In the hands of Tricia Guild, it works, as she is one of the patron saints of floral interior design.

Loving this overscale floral photo mural accent wall. Keeping the color scheme muted works to keep the large flowers from overwhelming.

How about florals overhead, in one of my all time favorite exuberant patterns?

Or how about literally walking on a bed of roses?

Florals needn’t be literal, with many abstracted patterns available that will appeal to everyone, even the not-so-flowery type.
