Inspired by Spring Color: Melon
I’m excited to continue my Spring Color Series, this time with a focus on a gorgeous color that, depending on hue and saturation, looks like it belongs either in the orange family or the pink family — and that color is melon.
Most people view melon as a shade of pink, but no matter how you look at it, melon is a rich, almost creamy color that provides outstanding contrast opportunities.
With these examples of exteriors, you can see how well melon is set off by white, lavender, black, and green.
Inside the home, melon works well with warm wood tones, checkerboard, animal print, you name it. It’s one of those colors that make a statement while still being fairly subdued and easy to coordinate.
The whole reason for my color series this month is not just to pay homage to great spring hues. It’s to serve as a source of inspiration for colors that you may never before considered. If you’re ready to try something new and fresh, perhaps with melon, you’ve just found your match!
