New Year Inspiration

Today I’m thinking about the year that is almost behind us. Every time we stand on the threshold of a new year, I find myself looking back and looking forward at the same time. As I post every Monday, there are so many things that inspire me. Today I want to talk about how words inspire me. The words I am sharing with you seem to fit this point in time of reflection and anticipation perfectly.

Often, women instinctively focus on everyone but ourselves. It’s the nurturer in us. But taking the time for self-development is so important. Today, I encourage you to try something new, perhaps a professional experience or a creative endeavor, because...

“Beauty” is defined as the quality of being pleasing, especially to look at. It is something or someone that gives great pleasure. As a designer, I am here to tell you: It’s a great and wonderful thing for you to enjoy your surroundings. In fact, when we are happy with our physical living space, the spaces in our mind and soul feel more fulfilled, too, don’t they?

I also encourage you to face the oncoming year with a resolve to find your gift. I bet you tell your friends or your children to explore what they love the most and spend time doing that. This same advice rings true to you as well. Living a life in which you follow your passion — whether it’s for philanthropy or in creative expression or teaching, etc. — that’s a life well lived, isn’t it? Take it from Mr. Shakespeare...

I hope you will share your gift with the world. And thank you for spending time with me on this blog as I share my passion with you. For more of my favorite words of wisdom, visit my Words pinboard.

Happy New Year!

Warmly,

Beth
